Maintenance of raised floors

According to the type of covering a special instruction for the cleaning of the raised floors has been worked out, which explains the requirements for professional maintenance. Please note also the remarks to the maintenance of the aluminium access floor in the cleaning instructions -elastic coverings-.

Room climate

Senway access floor systems consist of different materials and coverings, which have also different properties. Therefore, the room climate must be within a determined tolerance (as already prescribed for the installation).

Temperature: 15-35℃, relative humidity: 45-75%

Openings within the original floor (guiding to other rooms and storeys) have to be sealed up; otherwise there can be movements of air, leading to different temperatures and humidity. These can result, in connection with textile coverings, to pollution of the junction joint. The original floor has also to be cleaned if necessary.

Load capacity

Load capacity values given in our brochure have to be considered as static loads. In case of driving with lifting trucks or forklift trucks on the raised access floors much higher dynamic loads can occur, which are not taken into account in our brochure (please refer to our staff ). Horizontal forces are only allowed as partial forces of the allowed vertical load capacity. The mentioned load capacity values always refer to the closed raised floor.

Cuttings and equipment

According to the type of the access floor panel and the location of the cutting the construction can be weakened in such a way that additional pedestals must be put in. We recommend that standard cuttings should be produced in our own factory and the customer should order giving sufficient notice (generally in the written order).

It is possible to install equipment in Senway access floor panels type wood core panel without a considerable reduction of the load capacity provided cuttings are situated at least 10 cms away from the surrounding edge.

The equipment of ionization signals below the panel can be marked by using a covering tile in form of a big point with a contrast color. These panels must neither be changed nor covered with furniture. Only skilled staff should fit panels with fire extinguishing coverings and air circulation elements.

Marking

All panels are marked laterally with an arrow, which shows the direction in which panels must be installed if they are not covered with so-called "free of direction" coverings. If panels with carpet are put in correctly the covering will appear self-colored. If you turn every second panel at 90° to each other, you will receive a chessboard pattern effect.
